Radio’s Weblog Setup Needs to be More User-Friendly
Radio’s Weblog page need to be more user-friendly towards people setting it up. At the very least there should be example text below each edit box. And if possible there should also be a short explanation how Radio will use that setting. For example, the “Basic info about your weblog…” section specifies /index.html as the home page path but only rss.xml as the RSS file path. Is it OK that the home page path is beginning with a slash and the RSS path is not? I don’t know and Radio is not telling me.
Microsoft’s Programmers Can Kick Your Programmers’ Ass
You can say many bad things about Microsoft. They’re monopolists. They used to ship buggy software. They sometimes twist their partner’s arms. But, if you are honest about why they were successful in the Microsoft, then you must also admit that they can write some mean code.
For clear examples of this look no further than Internet Explorer and the Java Virtual Machine. In both cases Microsoft competed against companies that had a head start. And in both cases Microsoft came up with a better product.
Internet Explorer is the market leader. It’s better than Netscape and it’s better than Konqueror. It’s faster, more stable, and has more useful features.
Ditto for Microsoft’s Java Virtual Machine. Java is Sun’s child, for God’s sake, yet Microsoft’s JVM is faster and more stable.
